"In the shade of a 150 years old Sycamore tree, eating a traditional Cassoulet (hot!!!) accompanied with a nice cold strong trappist beer is not a punishment ;-)We had a refined paté dish as a starter, so there was absolutely no room for a dessert anymore...Friendly staff and friendly prices."

The baked Camembert!!!Had late morning drinks here then decided to stop for lunch as it's set on the most picturesque of squares, with an amazingly huge plane tree at its centre, in this most amazing of villages. So which salad to choose? Two of us had the salade de galines (chicken amongst other things) at 13.50 euros. And two of us fromage roti ( the aforementioned baked Camembert ) at 14.50. A couple of glasses of rose, a beer and a panache with a carafe of water filled from the fountain behind us!! Plus 4 coffees and a bill of just over 70 euros. Presentation of the food was amazing, freshness beyond question, quality of food and service excellent. Good loos - keep an eye on Yorick though!!

Almost hidden in the corner of the square, by the abbey, is a little gem of a restaurant. The day was sunny, but so gusty that the waiter emerged backwards and crouching from inside, cradling our salads to prevent them blowing into the beautiful old tree in whose shade we sat. Successfully delivered, they were fresh, well-dressed and plentiful. The wine was good, too, and both very well priced. It’s a relatively new and small-scale operation, we learnt, so arrive early and you’ll be well looked after. It’s worth going inside to see the startling living wall by the bar.

Depending which tables you choose in the square, will determine which restaurant you are served by. I suggest trying La source, the outer tables closest to the entrance to the town from the top carpark. I have twice had the chicken salad with a cold beer, and it was fresh and delish! My partner loved the foie gras salad too. One of the few places to serve a healthy salad in town... I loved sitting in the square enjoying my fresh lunch, refreshing beer, and the atmosphere of this lovely French village!

Sat down at the wrong table next to the restaurant where we normally eat when we go to the village. What a great mistake. Great food, reasonably priced friendly and efficient staff.who were happy to bail out our minimal french . Would thoroughly recommend but make sure you sit at the right tables otherwise you will still get a good value lunch. He as fast you win tails you win. commend but be careful you sit in the right partWhat a great mistake. Foof
