I had no idea where I was going to eat on Lygon St during my recent trip to Melbourne. I figured you can't go wrong and would just pick something randomly.The host who greeted me was super friendly (it was very co-incidental, but I had met him earlier that day at a furniture expo!) and introduced me to his father, the proud owner.Fabio (the host) suggested I try the minestrone, which did not disappoint. Loved it! But I could not find something that I wanted as a mains, so they were more than happy to make something up for me that was not on the menu. We went to this restaurant because the one we wanted had a line up. Boy, am I glad we couldn't get in because this restaurant was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken and mushroom pasta, my daughter had the bolognaise and my mum also had a pasta dish. All three were fabulous. Mine was so nice I wanted to order another serve of it. The service was great and the restaurant was warm. Thanks for a lovely meal. Will go again.

Great flavoursome food. However the experience was marred by the guy on the door. We weren't sure what he gets paid for but it's not bringing in the customers. He spent his whole time talking about himself with a friend who was there having coffee and we could hear everything as the outdoor picnic tables were very close together. The other staff member who served us our food however was very good

Fantastic Italian, lovely staff who are so friendly and welcoming. We love this street and the atmosphere, eating at the first pasta house in Melbourne is great. The menu has a good selection to choose from and a specials menu. There is indoor and outdoor seating (heated in the winter months). Highly recommend dinner at this place. Friendly, family, effect Italian - we had lunch, the crab was delicious. Staff were beautiful and friendly, we'll be back. The food and wine was delicious, it was hard to choose from all the Italian restaurants on Lygon street but glad we found this one.

Great food great service. Best carbonara I've had in a long time and they don't mind if you swap the pasta types around. Servings were generous but not too large.
