La Taverne de Maitre Kanter

We stopped here by chance on New Year's Day and found the place packed - had to wait until a table was vacated, but it was well worth the delay. A great choice of seafood platters - we had the medium one, which was plenty for 2 people - as well as the usual a la carte choices, including choucroute. Excellent service from a friendly young waiter and a very reasonable overall charge. Definitely worth a visit.

We had travelled to Saintes and found this restaurant. We decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed at all. The prices were good for the lunch menu and the food was great. I will return on my visit to this area again.

Stopped here for lunch on a group tour and wondered how it would be. Great! Food was very good. Service, despite a big crowd, was good. I would say it's worth a stop.

Really liked the oysters and the fish. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff, forthcoming and ready to accommodate wishes Much better than it looks.
