I had an incredible and unacceptable experience today with the Maître d mentioned in another comment. I've been regularly taking breaks and lunches at this place with my family, because honestly the food is ok. As the weather was rather cold today, everybody wanted to...eat inside and the restaurant was full. Still we managed to get a table for person that we booked in the morning. After having placed the order, we had the surprise to see the Maître d , telling us I'm sorry to say so, but you only took a salad and portions of french fries, which is not a lot, and that I consider to be a snack. I Went there on Saturday the the opening day of the skiing domain, in the intent to eat a goulash soup, which is my favourite while skiing. There were no waiters outdoors, so I went inside. The dining room was quite full, but, miracle,...there was a table of four, all empty, with no mention of reserved on it. So I sat down there. Big mistake! When I got the attention of the waiter, I wanted to place my order, but he only asked in a quite agressiive tone who asked you to sit there . Well nobody I replied. Seven of us went in for lunch during the second week of January The weather was very inclement outside and the restaurant were very welcoming. It was not clear that the restaurant was even open because normally the outside terrace is decked out with...seats, furs and a pop up bar too. On this occasion there was nothing out possibly due to the low season and poor weather. We were greeted like long lost friends and due to the oven being cleaned, were moved to a mezzanine area away from the smells of the kitchen. This is a quite good mountain restaurant on the slopes. Big sunny terrace (when the sun shines). Very good pizza’s, excellent burgers with good French fries, good salads, quite good spaghetti bolognese. Very friendly and efficient service. Prices are ok (this is Switzerland). Also snackbar...in corner of the terrace. Very good draft beer, very good coffees. We regurlarly have lunch at the place. Réservez une table maintenant
Very nice and effective service, merci Aubin, who really pampered us. We had cheese dishes with roestis, hamburger with very good bun and perfectly cooked meat, and delicious café gourmand (coffee together with a wide selection of little desserts). Lovely view on the Alps, right...when you exit the telecabine, one of the most beautiful terrace.
The location is nice, the terrace is sunny, the food is ok, but the service is just awful. We ordered and after waiting for an hour they brought the wrong order... when er said something to the girl serving us she was plain rude...and very aggressive. There are many nice places in villars ... so this is und to avoid!
