La Trattoria Helmsley

Stayed in Helmsley for a couple of nights and thought we’d try La Trattoria in the main square. Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and great service. I had the breads. oil and olives to start followed by the chicken and mushroom risotto and my husband had the meatballs and a ham and mushroom pizza. Food arrived in good time and the olives were so delicious and both main courses arrived hot and well presented. If we ever return to Helmsley we will definitely go back to La Trattoria

Having booked through your app 4 months in advance and had reminders of my booking, we arrived to be told we weren’t booked in and that the restaurant no longer used open table. The restaurant was very busy but they went out of their way to fit us in. The service and food was excellent so I can’t fault the management and all the staff. Just the booking process and your handling of this. Won’t be using you again.

Clearly a popular restaurant, but not great for us on the night. Staff were stressed and they showed it, pizza was not cooked through (a sign of the stress in the kitchen too), and the pasta was lack lustre though edible. The small plates need a bit of finesse but the wine was very good. They were gracious in accepting it hadn’t been a great experience for us, hopefully they learn from it.

The perfect venue for a lovely family birthday dinner. We were seated downstairs (where the noise level is much quieter) and the service was very prompt and friendly. Our food was excellent a good quality and freshly prepared. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely atmosphere; great service and all of our was great! We’ve visited several times now and will be back. The morning coffee and pastry for £3.50 is really good as well great price!
