We had a delicious dinner Laboratorio Kitchen last night. Be forewarned, it's BYOB. Thank goodness someone who knows the area mentioned that to me. Fortunately there is a fantastic liquor store a few steps down the block if you'd like a cocktail or wine with your meal. IMO, when a restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, it changes the flow of the evening. It's just too rushed. Our first course came out so quickly. Thank goodness it was delicious. I had the special beet salad, which I would love to have a again. The arugula salad was of good size and yummy as well. The salmon special of the evening was fantastic. Definitely a fan favorite and very generous piece of salmon. I cannot forget the house...
So sadly disappointed. Before we even sat, the hostess said you have a two (2) hour time limit. I should have left!!!!! Then told we had to order everything at the same time( appetizers and main course). We rushed!!!! Placed entire order, meal was good. Not great!!!! Then when we wanted to order dessert coffee, we were told you have six minutes to eat it because you have a time limit before you have to go. Well that kills our very special birthday celebration; because we got it one dessert, we blew a candle and left no coffee nothing. For me the birthday girl, I was so sad!!!!! My son selected this place for his birthday and we got in although it was Saturday! The ambiance, artwork and cleanliness was wonderful. The food was very flavorful, great portions and the pumpkin cheesecake was divine! The service was mixed.. yes they were attentive, but a bit rushed, too rushed for my liking. They were supportive, but head waiter was too quick and at times difficult to understand. His quickness not his accent was the problem.
I’ve been meaning to make a review about this place since we moved to Montclair 1.5 years ago. We have come here for several special occasions and it’s always outstanding. The food and service are always impeccable; you truly cannot ask for more. Without hesitation, I recommend everyone in the area check out this place. The standard menu is exceptional and they always have a long list of seasonal items. You can’t go wrong. Plus it’s BYOB.

Best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in awhile! We got the beat salad special, organic chicken, the salmon special, and toffee pudding for dessert and everything was delicious, even our cappuccinos! Everything was flavorful, fresh and cooked super well. Great prices and service too. We’ll definitely be back soon. vegan tasting menu is sublime! not on regular menu. ask for it!!! Better than any haute cuisine in metropolitan area. At reasonable price.
We went there because a friend gave us a gift certificate, the place is nice , good service and the food excellent, we will be back.

Really good food. Love that it is BYOB. Shared a muscle appy and had the trout for dinner. Very good. Will definitely go back.
