This review is ONLY for lunch. Breakfast and dinner are much better ! Probably the busiest place on the mountain the Alpine Lodge Self Service is serving meals for the masses. In fact that does not have to be negative as their quality is above average, tasty and good portions for the lunch break. Atmosphere is a bit hectic and crowded on the weekend but way better than most other self-service ski restaurants. Prices are realistic and acceptable as long as you do not try to get a lounge chair on the terasse. 100CHF minimum consumption incl. some rose wine - I saw no reason at all to throw away my money for that. The Alpine Lodge Self Service is a convenient location and usually has enough room for guests. The queuing for anything but soup however is frustrating and can take quite some time.
This restaurant was almost closed when we went in at 4pm. It has a lovely deck outside that you can sit on and eat your meal and enjoy the view. We wanted some hot chips and chicken nuggets – this cost us 9 Swiss francs for a handful of chips and 4 chicken nuggets. Price wise pretty good for being half way up a mountain with beautiful views but still very expensive for what it was. It was clean and the service was also very good
Have been here many times. Both a la carte terrace and self serve. Both very good. This season only self serve open, but still access to the fabulous sun terrace of the a la carte restaurant. The food in the self serve is very good! Big variety, really good quality and really fresh. Staff is very nice and service minded. The mountain views and the ambience are both fantastic!
