I went to La Guardia Cafe for lunch and was first in line, with no one else waiting. I greeted the woman at the counter and gave her my order, but she just handed it off to another woman and turned away to do something else. A man who appeared to be a manager was in the corner speaking in Spanish with the two women. Since I also speak Spanish, I realized they were talking about me, yet they still refused to take my order despite my multiple attempts.
If I had a Dominican grandmother, I can only imagine her cooking would taste like this. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are quite reasonable. My only complaint is the absence of any homemade hot sauce. I was expecting something robust and flavorful, like what my imaginary Dominican grandmother would make, but all they offered was Cholula.
If you happen to be at the airport, I highly recommend taking a 20-minute stroll to La Guardia Cafe—it's definitely worth the trip if you have the time. I enjoyed the best Cubano and Chicken Quesadilla I've ever had. The authentic Spanish cuisine is a favorite among the locals. I’ll definitely return!
Hello everyone! As a Dominican, I have to say that this place is fantastic! The authenticity really brings back memories of my grandmother's cooking. The spices, the flavor of the beans, the meat, and the rice are all perfectly cooked. They also serve empanadas, which are a must-try! Réservez une table maintenant
If you’re at the airport, it’s definitely worth the 20-minute walk for a meal here if you have the time. I had the best Cubano and Chicken Quesadilla I’ve ever tasted. This place serves authentic Spanish food, and it’s where the locals dine. I’ll definitely be back!
We expected the restaurant to only offer coffee and a slice of New York cheesecake, but the cheesecake truly exceeded our expectations. The service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this café!
