We were in town for a gym competition and decided to go to the top rated restaurant . It did not disappoint! It is currently under a face lift on the outside but beautiful inside and outside on the patio ! I think it wouldn't have been as nice if we had to sit inside ; the garden and trees make it a beautiful ambience . The service of the manager was impeccable , you can tell that he has had some sort of training in luxury serving . The steak was cooked perfect medium rare and they brought the meal out at reasonable timing ! The only thing is we ordered the chocolate lava cake and it was over cooked . The old, traditional house looks perfect from the outside and inside. It also has a nice terrace and garden. The tables are perfectly set, well spaced and the service is prompt and professional. There is not a very large choice of dishes but all available dishes offered are very well done. The meal was rounded with a apple pie.
Pleasant traditional place with excellent food and high quality service. Wonderful white wine soup with chees cream. Tender and tasty strogonoff veal. Espressely made apple pie. It was so good that we asked for doggy bag! Restaurant is in an old bealding. Room is lovely decorated with family portrait paintings. Worth the trip!
Every year I visit this place and it has become somewhat a tradition to visit this ;lovely restaurant. Try to book a table in the garden or terrace during summertime - its lovely. They offer many local delicacies in an upscale / elegant way, and a MUST eat is the legendary apple tart - the best I've ever tasted in my live!
