I recently discovered a great BBQ restaurant near me that I never knew existed! If you're in Newmarket or uptown, this is the place to go for delicious skewers and food (similar to Chat Bar). The restaurant has a spacious interior with plenty of seating available. Orders are placed online by scanning a QR code. The food arrives quickly after ordering, and I was impressed with how well the hot stove kept the skewers warm (unlike my experience at Chat Bar). The flavors of the food were fantastic overall, though I wished the skewers had a bit more spice for added flavor. One standout dish is the salted egg yolk corn, which combines the sweetness of corn with the savory salted egg yolk - a must...
like their sweet and sour pork are very traditional and helpful. the reasons I give 3 stars are 1. there are no traditional plate, bowl or even glass cups when they dip. everything is paper or plastic makes all dishes ready to go. the suppe is extremely hot, used plastic bowl with a plastic spoon is not a decent restaurant experience 2. the suppe is delicious, but very salty. my friend and I have to drink a lot of water after I go home.
First time ordering from here. Tried the spicy beef noodle soup, wings, house special fried noodles, eggplant, and Szechuan beef. When we got the order, a couple of the bowls were leaking. It was not fully sealed. The beef soup was very good and actually spicy. The house special noodles was also a hit. We were not a fan of the eggplant or Szechuan beef.
Came here with my Chinese friend, so he knows what is good around here.And the place was great, fast service, delicious menu. We came here twice, and twice the place was crowded (re-covid of course), so you can tell that the place is popular. Came all the way from Toronto, and it was worth the trip Réservez une table maintenant
During my first visit to Lars, I ordered the seafood fried rice. The taste was good, but there were only 3 small pieces of seafood and very little vegetables. The dish was mostly rice. My husband enjoyed the sweet and sour pork. The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was beautiful.
Really tasty food. Happy to have more authentic Asian cuisine up in my hood. Our favs are the eggplant, the skewers (pork belly FTW sliced beef, lars special fried rice and the crispy pork (aka sweet sour pork). Definitely worth a try if you're up in the Newmarket area.
