I really like the LaScala. I was in the South Philly location, but the Pennsauken location is better more space and better ambience. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere. I came at 8 for an outside reservation and sat right away. Our server was very patient and did not denounce us at all. Loved the Birra wing (big taste and spice) and my pizza was also good! My only criticism would be live music. Great musicians, but something too loud to talk. Otherwise very good equipment for the price. I would also recommend decent clothes for dinner. Expect most males dressed
Had a wonderful dinner on the river! We sat outside and the weather was perfect! Natalie was our server, she was attentive, but let us enjoy the delicious food and atmosphere. We started ordering mussels in white sauce. Wünsch, it came with more bread, as it was great for diving. We had the lobster ravioli and shrimp pompeii for entrees and we ended with an order of birria zeppoli. Beverages were a Flying Fish Mango smoothie and a Blackberry Crush. The food was amazing, beautiful and hot from the kitchen. We can't wait to come back!!
Had a really fantastic experience here. We ate outside and sat right away. You have a beautiful terrace with a very beautiful view of the river. Our server was also very nice. The food was really delicious, including the honey riccotta plate and caprese dish for appetizers, and the salmon entree and bruschetta salad. Unfortunately we don't have room for dessert, but it looked delicious. Many couples as well as families with children there that made for a beautiful atmosphere. We'd like to come back one day.
My husband and I have dined here a few times before and we loved the food. This time I would have to say the food quality is not the same. I understand with times being tough and staffing issues some areas of the restaurant business is suffering. However, for the price you pay the food should be top notch. The view of the water is a bonus... maybe add some outdoor lighting for better ambiance :
