Nous avons téléphoné pour déjeuner après avoir visité le Gouffre de Padirac à proximité et avons trouvé un endroit très agréable pour s'asseoir dehors, loin de l'agitation du Gouffre. Le menu propose une bonne variété de choix principalement régionaux à des prix variés, mais un peu plus imaginatifs que beaucoup de restaurants. Nous avons facilement trouvé quelque chose pour tout le monde et avons trouvé notre nourriture très bien préparée et délicieuse. La gamme de boissons disponibles est également bonne, notamment les vins de la maison. Le service était poli et amical, et nous avons trouvé que notre repas offrait un excellent rapport qualité-prix pour une expérience de haute qualité.
Je tiens à recommander vivement L'Auberge de Mathieu. Nous étions un groupe de 24 personnes et ils nous ont servi un déjeuner en quatre services avec grâce et efficacité. Nous aurions pu être patients si cela avait pris du temps, mais tout s'est déroulé très agréablement. Et la nourriture était incroyable. Je me souviendrai toujours de ce repas comme d'un moment marquant de mes souvenirs en France.
We stopped here for lunch on the way back from a visit to the Gouffre de Padirac. It's far enough away to avoid being a tourist trap. Very nice, neat restaurant both inside and out. The menu was comprehensive and the portions generous. The service was personable and relaxed but not slow. The food delicious. €81 for four including drinks was reasonable given the quality and the surroundings.
What a delightful lunch we had on the terrace of this auberge just outside Gouffre de Padriac. We started with a kir, then our group was served truly excellent fois gras pate, about the best of our trip; veal with a potato gratin; Rocamador cheese, and their delicious signature walnut cake. The hardworking husband-wife proprietors should be applauded for their excellent food and service.
