Le Bistango - Réservation de table

We came across this restaurant when searching for dinner spot driving down the street away from our hotels. This restaurant happens to be associated with the hotel across the street where we had free parking in a shopping mall. This appears to be a popular French dining spot in the area; the waiter/waitress and the host all dressed casually. Our waiter did not know some of the English translation of the French food we tried to order but the customer on next table helped a little in this aspect explaining the white fish was actually cod.We all liked our Beef Tartare appetizer. We have previously had breakfast at Le Bistango (see my review "Breakfast at Le Bistango" from 1 October 2016), but this is the first time that we have been there for the evening meal.We were not disappointed.As always, we found the service friendly and attentive, and the food very good.We started with a soup, and continued with two main dishes: Fusilli au poulet grillé, pesto de poivrons rotis, amandes, tomates cerises et roquette and Saumon, balsamique blanc, salade d’asperges, pistaches et perles de mangue. We have been to this restaurant a number of times over the years and we’re usually satisfied. However our September 2023 visit in honour of my wife’s birthday left lots to be desired. Ordered filet mignon $58), received 3 small but tender) strips of beef. The plate was basically empty otherwise, lacking anything significant to accompany the “filet mignon”. Also ordered paëlla risotto $40). The risotto was essentially tasteless, and the paëlla appeared to be their own version nothing like what was expected. When we politely expressed some disappointment, the waiter disappeared and sent an assistant to complete the service. We completed a satisfaction survey but Bistango never responded.

Belle carte de vins , bon choix de repas , ambiance excellente , une magnifique terrasse a l’avant , service de grande qualité , restaurant qui a une allure très haut de gamme . This place was amazing!!!! The staff let us bring our small dog to the patio because we could not leave her alone in the hotel. We got the octopus as an appetizer, and the filet of trout and lobster penne as our entrees. Everything was incredibly tasty. Will for sure come back here when we visit Quebec City.

It’s been a while I haven’t had such a good meal. If you’re two, I recommend the four course meal that includes a starter, soup, main meal, dessert and a bottle of wine. Everything was simply perfect! Definitely coming

Had dinner here with a colleague on a recent business trip. Found that the food was excellent. We were staying at a local hotel so there was a fiscal incentive to eat at this restaurant. The Chablis was excellent.

Affiliated with the Hotel Alt that we were staying in, it offers excellent french food at not over-the-top prices. We enjoyed a Veal chop superbly prepared. Wine was reasonable.

One of the best restaurants in Quebec, since the arrival of the new chef Anthony Coniglio, this si the closest you’ll get to Michelin star food in Quebec!
