We stayed here on the "Saveurs and Degustations" special which includes a seven course meal featuring the seven different Jura wine types with a course that accentuates the qualities of the wine chosen. As B&B owners not too far away (in Burgundy) we offer a similar meal and we thought it would be fun to compare theirs to ours although it's a little like comparing apples and oranges as everyones tastes are different. The first course was very good and the wine was very good but as a combination it didn't work for me (you'll have to find the hotel site for details!). The second course was again excellent, but again the very good wine didn't really show off either the food or the wine to their best. Course three absolutely got it right. Course four (the "Main course") was a classic of the region superbly executed with a Vin Jaune that complemented the chicken perfectly. Course five (cheese) was with a wine that certainly worked very well but again seemed a slightly odd choice. The first of two desserts arrived and what I thought was clearly the wrong choice of wine was in fact perfect. Totally stunning mix of gratineed fruit and dry Cremant (local champagne). Final course was superb as well with (in my opinion) the correct choice of accompanying wine. The service throughout was attentive without being overbearing with each wine being introduced. At the start of the evening you have a wooden stand put in front of you with seven glasses, five of them complete with wine, and you work your way from left to right! The last two courses demand a chilled wine so these are served when the relevant dessert is brought. The only downside is that the wines are all supplied by the same winemaker. All of the wines are very good but there are better producers of each type of wine within 5 kilometres. It smacks of either lazy buying or a significant tie-up between the hotel and the winemaker. Slight shame but nothing to be too worried about.A really great evening

Finding somewhere to stay and with a restaurant open on a Sunday night is not always easy, especially out of the holiday season, so we were happy to find this hotel and restaurant on our route from Geneva northwards. We decided that the lower price menu offered sufficient choices, but one of us added the additional cheese course. Service was good and very professional. A "mise en bouche" was followed by good starters. The main course, at least for the fish choice, appeared to have been microwaved, maybe due to a Sunday night chef crisis, resulting in overcooked fish but a good sauce. The three taster slices of Compte were exactly as described and the sweet Vacherin dessert a cream-rich fruity sugary finish. Not a memorable meal but a perfectly acceptable one.

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Valais in Switzerland (only another 3 hours drive away). It is in a rural setting amongst the Jura vineyards.Although we were staying in the low season on a Friday night, there were a few people in the restaurant and there was a good ambiance. There were 3 menus to choose from and they also provided us with a menu in English. The food was very good. We had fois gras and scallops for starters, chicken and duck for mains, local Jura cheeses (Mont d'or was very good) and dessert. The local Cremant de Jura - sparkling white wine was also good.

I spent 3 nights at the Domaine de Revermont and had dinner at the hotel's restaurant for the first night. We tried the morel omelette, the rabbit cannelloni and the chicken breast with morels and vin jaune. We opted for wine by the glass. The...More
