À notre arrivée à cet hôtel, vers 13h00, notre chambre n'était pas encore prête pour l'occupation. Après notre voyage sous la chaleur, nous étions fatigués et avions vraiment envie de prendre une douche et de changer de vêtements avant de partir à la découverte de Rouen. Alors, en attendant, nous avons décidé de déjeuner rapidement à l'hôtel au 'Bistro' qui se trouvait dans le bar juste à côté de la réception. Le menu était intitulé 'Le Boston'. Je ne trouve aucun site web qui correspond à ce restaurant par les noms 'Le Bistro' ou 'Le Boston', qui est séparé du restaurant principal Honfluer mais partage évidemment une cuisine commune. It was a cold, wet, Sunday December evening. As we were staying in the Mercure, Rouen Champs de Mars, we thought we would give the restaurant a try rathger than wandering the streets looking for somewhere that might be open. This was a mistake.My wife and I both had the salad starter which was priced at 11 euros; bagged lettuce, quartered supermarket tasteless tomatoes and industrial ham sliced into ribbons. It was not worth the effort of eating it but we were hungry.The duck should have been better. Nous étions fatigués. Nous n'avions pas le courage de sortir de l'hôtel pour chercher un restaurant. Nous avons opté pour cet endroit. Nous avons été impressionnés. Décoration élégante et moderne. Service très amical. Nourriture magnifique. Prenez votre temps pour le dessert. Que demander de plus. Sérieusement, nous n'avons trouvé aucun défaut. Beaucoup des ingrédients et la cuisine étaient locaux. C'était si bon que nous sommes retournés le lendemain soir et nous n'avons en aucun cas été déçus. Nourriture merveilleuse. Cela nous a vraiment réjouis d'être en France.
Nous sommes allés ici uniquement car nous séjournions à l'hôtel et tous les autres endroits semblaient fermés le dimanche soir. C'était médiocre, j'ai pris du saumon qui était servi avec une sauce épaisse qui avait le goût de la farine, du riz et d'une tomate cuite ! Puis un dessert aux prunes, la pâte était affreuse, c'était sec, sans sauce ni crème zut alors si c'est de la cuisine française, donnez-moi de l'italien ou de l'espagnol tous les jours. There is a public motor home site there too. Big park. Good morning runs. We saw storks on arrival too. Town had a small supermarket for picnics Great for d day sites. Biggest problem was cobbled streets everywhere were a nightmare for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

We were staying in the hotel, and arrived after a very long drive. We could not be bothered to go out searching for a restaurant, so we decided to eat in. Our expectations are usually low when staying in a hotel chain, but we had a pleasant surprise! Our food was good! We both had salad starters that were fresh and tasty and my husband had Curried Monkfish, which he raved about! Service was good....we were happy!
We stayed next door at the Ibis which does not serve food, however guests are welcome in here.There is a "weekend menu" which has a good selection of courses to make a three course meal.Service is brilliant, the staff fortunately speak better English than my French, and are extremely friendly and welcoming.Highly recommend this restaurant.
