Le Local du Gourmet

At the end of September, we drove out to Valleyfield, Quebec and walked along the canal. It is always difficult to find information about restaurants in Valleyfield. I read about Le local on a couple of websites, but the restaurant/café itself has no website. We found it without difficulty and entered a well-lite, bright, squeaky clean, inviting space that is both a restaurant/café and a gourmet food store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu is small and for lunch was nearly all sandwiches and one salad option. The sandwiches included tuna salad, Asian chicken salad, ham and cheese, chevre and caramelised onions, vegetarian of the day, and a BLT. The salad option was broccoli...

It can be challenging to find information about restaurants in Valleyfield, but after reading about Le Local on a few websites, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant/café itself didn't have a website, but we easily found it and were impressed by the well-maintained, bright, and inviting space. chef in the open kitchen and is absolutely delicious. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend trying the seafood risotto and the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that won't break the bank.

Plusieurs petits plats raffinés y sont servis. Déjeuners brunch. Le café est délicieux. Le service laisse à désirer.
