"The terrace of this restaurant has a lovely view of the river Lot. This makes for an ideal setting for lunch or dinner. The food is of good quality but nothing too adventurous or particularly exciting. It is a traditional menu which is not particularly extensive menu, although the fish options are very good. For families it is worth noting that the options for younger children are fairly limited."

We stopped here by chance, passing by at the end of our bike ride looking for something to eat and drink. We didn't intend to have much, but madame took us to a table in the restaurant at the back overlooking the river, produced the chalkboard menu and we decided it was too nice to rush! Relaxing with a glass of rosé we decided on duck confit (me) and moules frites (him). Both dishes were delicious and nicely presented. The chef is a friendly man who delivers the food with a smile. We liked it so much that at the end of yet another bike ride the following day we decided to return for lunch again. Sometimes this doesn't work, but here it was equally as good, the chef welcoming and cheerful an...

To be honest, we probably wouldn't have stopped by this restaurant, but the local evening food market had been cancelled and we needed to find somewhere to eat. The front is a little foreboding, but once you are inside, you are sure of a very warm welcome, and lovely food. It is clearly a family business, and the chef is very proud of his restaurant, and rightly so. If you order the moules et frites, expect to be eating for some time there are mounds to get through! My confit de canard was a little tough, but very tasty. The grilled swordfish was so very soft and very tasty. My advice? Don't judge a book by its cover!

This small bar/restaurant has a balcony with a terrific view of the River Lot. The balcony is not very fancy, but the food is good and the evening sun hits the area. In other words on a good evening you can enjoy great outdoor eating. There is also an indoor section but the real star is the view of the Lot. Incidentally you could easily stop in Penne without realising there is a modernised old town up the hill beyond the church with the round dome. There is an ice cream parlour, a bar and a couple of restaurants there. The church itself is interesting with lovely stained glass.

Quiet, on entering typical French bar, closed in dark, but walking through to the terrace over looking the LOT the ambiance changes. Greeted by friendly staff, terrace partioned with clear glassed screens, you feel in your own bubble. The menu had four entree, mains and deserts all at reasonable prices. There were also specials like Moules Frites and fresh Arcachon oysters. Would recommend for lunch
