OK the end of September on a Monday evening is probably not the best time to try out an unknown restaurant, but the reviews generally suggested it was worth a try. When we arrived there were only 2 other couples there whereas other restaurants nearby...were busy, we should have gone back down the stairs. There was no atmosphere, a little background music would have helped. The food was nothing special, my foie gras consisted of just one small slice of the pate with a couple of pieces of cold limp toast, the duck brochette was nicely cooked if a little tough, the coq au vin was napalm like, having clearly spent too long being reheated in the microwave. The Bergerac red in the pichet was very pleasant once it came to room temperature having been served from the same chiller that held the white and rose. The service was good, but we did feel sorry for the waiter as there is nothing worse than a slow evening, we will not however be rushing back.
