Took my colleagues here for a nice dinner since they have put up with me for two weeks here in "Dourdan" ! :) No one had been here before, so it was an adventure for all!Execute summary : the food and service were just perfect! From start to finish everything was above average! I especially loved my Plat (main course) which was a beautifully prepared Lamb "Roll" (think a roulade or rolled up lamb piece) perfectly cooked to medium - medium rare ("Rosie") with an amazing pan sauce, some fresh perfectly cooked vegetables. We started also with the Foie Gras -- that comes with Sauternes! Perfect! Awesome bread! Great little "snack" tray (no idea what was on it) at the start w/ our Aperitifs (I had a Kir -- falling in love with those) .. And the CHEESE course! They roll out this amazing set of perfectly ready cheeses -- maybe the best "Epouisse" (very soft "stinky" cheese that is amazing) I've ever had. With cafe -- they served this little dessert thing with some chocolates, etc. ! This is a must eat for a special occasion! All my French colleagues also agreed maybe one of the best meals they've had either in the area!
I can't recommend this restaurant enough if you want to experience wonderfully prepared food and a warm atmosphere. I strongly suggest reservations as this is not a large restaurant. The menu offers a complete experience or a la carte. We were four and we all had the complete and everything was prepared beautifully. I had the baked oysters to start, which were so memorable that I strongly recommend you try them. The rest if the people in my party of four had gesier and foie gras..Delish. All the mains were wonderful with a choice of fish, beef or veal etc. Menu has something to please all. The cheese course is dream come true with the ability to sample too many to list and the desserts a delight. To top it off the staff were wonderful. Just go and have this experience. I promise you will not be disappointed.
My wife and I enjoyed the best meal we have had in the region in a very long time. From the opening specialties brought to the table, through the starters, the "surprise", the main course, the cheese, and the dessert, everything was excellent. The service was excellent and unpretentious. You can see that the owner and his staff enjoy making you feel welcome and surprising you with creative and delicious dishes. We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor, and wish that we had seen it earlier. This will became a mainstay for special occasions!
