Lemongrass now feels more like a bistro than a quality restaurant. We went for a special occasion, were seated at a nice table with attentive service but at 8pm on a saturday night they were rushing our orders as the kitchen was closing and by...9.30 the vacuum cleaner was out and staff were re arranging tables! The food was ok, Pad Thai was a bit dry and prawns were rationed out, fish was on the fatty side of poor cuts but the calamari was well cooked. I'm assuming management have changed and haven't grasped idea of fine dining ambience. [hidden link]
Looking at some of the beautiful old architecture around Carlton and decided to have lunch in Lygon street as we were at the Southern end, and not feeling like Italian, the menu at the Lemongrass looked good. Red chicken and Beef Massaman curries were...the orders and were delights to remember real Thai food ! Service was good, prices reasonable and friendly staff, in all a lovely lunch experience.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, service was very good it has real homemade Thai food. The menu is varied is was hard to choose. We decided on a mixed plater and then a mixture for the mains,the food was just superb and the staff are very friendly we will be back.It wasn't the cheapest Thai but the quality made up for this.
Above average restaurant in several respects: Food is fresh and tasty. The spring rolls tasted as tho they were made just prior to serving. Red Curry was full flavoured, and the wine list extensive. Service also very good. Ambiance is above average

The service at this restaurant was lacking. The appetizers were mediocre. However, the main course was delicious, which was a relief. The prices were too high for what we received. It felt like we were only paying for the prime location.
Dropped in for a quick lunch. Thai fish cakes were excellent and not at all rubbery as is the case with many places. Then the seafood laksa...probably the best I’ve had in the country!!! And service was efficient and friendly.
This is a nice restaurant with nice decors and definitely offers nice Thai food as well. We had Pad Thai, Tom Kha and Grilled Salmon Thai Style. The Tom Kha was really yummy, probably one of the best I had so far.
I had a truly delightful meal tonight. I began with the chef's specials, which included freshly made spring rolls and chicken curry puffs.

The Roti Canai was hands down delicious! The roti was fresh and the sauces were flavorfulHowever, the main dishes did not impress me.
The appetizer and stir-fry portions were small and we felt that the prices were too high.
