I went to Lena’s on Sunday and the food was amazing!!!! I didn’t have any complaints. The yams were PERFECT! They were the best yams I’ve had in a long time. The mac n cheese was to die for. I had a side of cabbage that was good too. The cornbread taste like my grandma’s cornbread. The sweet potato pie was everything!!! I will definitely be back this Sunday. The customer service was amazing too. Shout out to Jamiela who I spoke with on the phone while trying to catch them before they close during my 45 minute commute. They were closing but was waiting for my arrival. I definitely recommend this place!
Came in around 630pm almost all sides were empty, and there was no cornbread muffins or napkins. Also, the dinner meal used to come with 3 sides however I was charged for my 3rd side as an al la carte item. There is several different fees besides taxes a dinning for justice 1%, and a 8% surcharge. Not to mention cashier had poor customer service was on her cell phone throughout transaction. Definitely won't be returning. Maybe new owners should implement some type of training. This literally used to be my favorite soul food place that I would Reccomend to everyone. I'm very disappointed.
I had an online order, they were busy& the girl infront told me to go around the corner through the first door I did so and some other girl came out and yelled at me and told me get out the room. First of all I was told to go through their secondly even if I made a mistake you should never speak to your customers like that I explained that I had been told that and she said I don't care get out the room ..what happened to customer service?? She could have very well just politely said ma'am you're in the wrong place could you please step out. And on top of it the food was cold
I come to Lena's whenever I have a taste for soul food which for me is always the fried fish entree it's Basa . I get the dinner order and it is always....did you hear me? ALWAYS hot, fresh, perfectly fried with a light crunch and oh so good. I ask for crunchy pieces and they never disappoint in freshness and taste. You get a nice portion as well. They have the b-e-s-t mac and cheese in this part of town, their greens are bomb, I even got the succotash one day and it was delicious as well! Can't go wrong with Lena's

I was really looking forward to eating here today. Drove all the way from Sacramento to experience this deliciousness 1 last time. When I tell you I don't know what happened since the last time I visited in 2019.Lena's, I know it's y'alls last day but you didn't have to do us like this. Hard rice, cold mac n cheese, unseasoned greens. What happened? The only im giving 1 stars is because the server was kind #RegretAndDisappointment
I need to apologize. First, this plate to go was the most edible, but I drove to Oakland to the Farmers market to l and saw a plate drop Lena's . And I live in San Jose, so by the time I got home , I started in on it and then took a picture, my bad, but it's season very well and tasty. Lena's, you got 5 stars from me, thank you. The service was great!
I liked the macaroni and cheese. The chicken was dry, yams super sweet, greens too salty, the cornbread muffin was heavy, dry and dense, is it vegan? The mandatory 18% surcharge is ridiculous and borderline scandalous, especially for take out. It’s a no for me, dawg.
This place used to be really really good. I don’t know what happened, but my food was cold Water down gravy that tasted like packet gravy. I don’t know who’s in the kitchen now, but they need to step your game up.

Took our food to go, but regardless you can't go wrong with the amount of food that you receive. The customer service was on point. Keep up the awesome customer
