The wine was average but drinkable (that was for the 15 euro grands vins tasting). But almost all wine can be great if coloured by the broader experience, and this is where the service let things down. All up, the visit took two hours - half an hour waiting for somebody to appear, then half an hour waiting to be served, then an hour for the tasting itself - and not in a leisurely savouring kind of way. Everything was a higher priority than our tasting: the (very slow) processing of orders of those before us (understandable); everybody who came in to buy the wine after that; the telephone; cleaning up; fretting about the dishwasher... The lady would have been better off just pouring the wine...
We knew this place as we bought our wine here several times, so we were really excited to find out what the restaurant might be like.Maybe our expectations were too high (due to their good quality of wine we really like) but what we found out that evening was very dissapointing to us.Service was not very friendly and chaotic. Quality of food was mean and did not really taste. We had lamb chops, they were burned on the outside and lotte that came in an unappetizing way. In the background: American music - from country hits to Christmas Songs (in August... in South of Fance...)! After all a place we will not go anymore and can not recommend. What a pitty, a place full of lovelessness...
My wife and I went here during a week's stay in Carcassonne, on the recommendation of our apartment hosts. We were, it transpired, the only guests, however we were warmly greeted by the chef and waiter upon arrival and shown to a table in front of a crackling open fire. As the only diners in the restaurant, we didn't quite know what to expect. However, the service, the food and the wine were all beyond expectation and very reasonably priced. It's not often you have a restaurant like this to yourselves, which made it a special meal to remember.
First time at this restaurant, although we had visited for wine testing on a few occasions.A set price menu with add ons. We choose the option with wine selected for each course. The food was good and well presented. The staff appeared to be one short, as the two guys were running trying to keep the near full restaurant satisfied. Our wines were a little late arriving and deserts were a little muddled. Otherwise it was good and reasonable value. Would go again, but may leave it a while so they can up their staffing.
Nous venons de rentrer de Pennautier après de belles vacances en famille. Ce restaurant se trouvait à quelques minutes à pied de la villa dans laquelle nous logions. Nous avons réservé une table pour le dîner du vendredi soir car il y a beaucoup de monde. La nourriture et le vin étaient incroyables et les prix sont très raisonnables. Si je suis dans ce quartier, j'essaierais certainement ce restaurant.
Nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant pour dîner avant l'un des concerts de la série Internationale de Piano au Château. Nous avons chacun pris un plat et les vins de la maison de Pennautier. Excellent rapport qualité-prix et bon service, manger en terrasse en été est très agréable.
Nous avons appelé ici pour une dégustation de vin suivie d'un repas lors d'une visite de groupe. Le service était très bon et le repas était excellent. Certains des vins dégustés sont disponibles au Royaume-Uni, donc nous pourrons espérons ramener quelques souvenirs des vacances.
