The reviews of excellency were not mirrored in our experience. The restaurant is divided into two, the hotel guests using the buffet restaurant and visitors using smaller à la carte restaurants. The Ambiance and the service were excellent, however sadly the meal was a total...disappointment. The venison goulash tasted as though it was re-warmed from a micro wave oven – tough and tasteless. The steak was also disappointing and not to be recommended. Nonetheless the restaurant manager, handled our complaint in an excellent fashion and to some extent mitigated our disappointment. we stopped in famous RAMSAU, to visit Pfarrkirche St.Sebastian, on January On a cold Winter day it was time to have a Cappuccino and we located Lichtmannegger's, it sitting on a high elevation where you can get some great mountain view scenery...on a clear day. It is a beautiful setting, in a Bavarian House, next to a Hotel, with lots of parking spaces, from what I was able to witness, LUNCH is an elegant, classy setting. We had our Cappuccino in the Bar which was also a cozy place. Melanie was our waitress and she she did a fine job. After years I had the chance to come back to Lichtmanneggers restaurant on my birthday. We were the only guests in one room of the Stüberl and therefore a nice surrounding and a very quiet time. The service was excellent and they even prepared...some decoration for my birthday. We enjoyed the food a lot and therefore we asked if we could come back two days later : Also then, everything was to our complete satisfaction. On this special occasion they offered a fixed menue but also very very excellent!

We loved enjoying the different buffets each night of our stay here. Never had a bad meal. The wait staff is by far the best we have ever encountered in all of our travels. The food was absolutely delicious, well worth it. Don't forget to...wander over to the bar and enjoy and after dinner cocktail! Réservez une table maintenant

We took some old friends out to dinner here, and we all ordered different entrees. All were very well prepared and presented, and all four of us loved the meal. You must try this place if you are in or near Berchtesgaden!

So much to choose from for meat eaters and veggies, reasonably priced wines. Friendly service and locally sourced products which they are rightly very proud of.

We had dinner at this place post a nice stroll around the Hintersee. Amazing views from the diner, good food and cocktails
