I went to dinner tonight with my husband and our friend. I will begin with the fact that the food was absolutely delicious; no complaints there. But the service was rushed. When we set ourselves, our waitress asked for our order. We, of course? not ready yet, as we had not received a menu yet. A few minutes later she came back. Then we decided to order the appetizers first. Not more than a minute later she asked if we were ready to order dinner. Our dinner came and was well prepared. We then ordered Dessert and when it arrived, so did the check. My husband actually said that he had never got his dessert and check at the same time, and my friend agreed that it felt quite eager. A favorite local haunt for well heeled boomers, Gen Xers on dates, and single diners who want to feel comfortable. Soundtrack can’t be beat from the 70s 80s and 90s… Food and wine list is solid. Bar is congenial and welcoming on a Friday night folks make room and slide over if needed. The favorite and famous French Dip has taken a multi night slide down lately, with hardly any of the advertised cheese or peppers… Roll is inconsistent, sometimes hard, sometimes French, sometimes… don’t know where it comes from. Outdoor under the stars seating with heat lamps, as well as a tent plus two charming smaller dining rooms inside. If they would consistently deliver on the food this would be five star...
The place bounced. So many people try to eat a few minutes before a Jackson Browne concert. Even the service was remarkably friendly and efficient! Had the pear and arugula salad with grilled salmon. Large piece of fish perfectly grilled. My husband had the Cesar salad with a burger upstairs. He said the burger was really good! We've been here a few times and always enjoyed it.
