Been visiting this cafe for years now. Always had a lovely welcoming experience. Food has also always been satisfactory and to a good standard. This is a classic British cafe, serving hearty food and a lovely breakfast. Nothing fancy just good honest food. The staff have always been charming, professional and polite. The renovation work over the years has clearly paid off as the interior is warm and welcoming. The cafe doubles up as a truck stop and must be doing something right as in the years we have been going it has won two national awards for “Little Truck Stop of the Year” Bravo to all members of staff. If you like greasy food this is the place to go, my chicken burger was deep fried and all you could taste was the greasy oil. Left all my meal but at no point did anyone come to check if all was OK even though there was plenty of staff. My hot chocolate was a chocolate flavoured hot water and strangely enough they ask you to pay before you eat and now I know the reason for it. Certainly would never return
We live nearby and frequently pass by this cafe, so we decided to have breakfast there this morning. It was a hidden gem. The seating and table service were excellent, and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The food was hot and served promptly by a very friendly young waitress. We will definitely be coming back.
Always stop here when I am down visiting relatives, in fact I use it for breakfast every day whilst here. I have never had a bad meal here. I thoroughly recommend the breakfasts. Staff are friendly and the place is immaculately clean. I would go as far as to say this is my favourite cafe in the country. Réservez une table maintenant
This quaint and welcoming cafe is a hidden gem. The decor is charming and the food is delicious. The walls are adorned with beautiful cross stitch creations made by the owner. Additionally, they offer a wide variety of craft books for sale. A must-visit spot for any craft or food enthusiast!
