I was grocery shopping nearby around the lunch hours. Remembered that this was on my hit list for over a year, so finally made the stop. A lot bigger space than I thought it would be. It is an Italian deli, with a store with lots of cold cases you can grab into, whether it be drinks, packaged deli items like cheese/salami to raviolis. There are about 10 tables or so strewn about, so as you eat, you're kinda in the middle of the grocery area. They've been here a while, so they kinda got the flow down, though not sure if they've changed things. Hubby and I love deli sandwiches and we always try to find places that make delicious sandwiches. We stopped on a Saturday afternoon of Luccas to pack some deli sandwiches and it was so delicious! The worker was so friendly. You have a fridge and freezer with already prepared meals that you can buy. I forgot what sandwiches Hubby and I had ordered, but I would definitely come back to get their sandwiches back. I love my sandwiches with the ****, you can't go wrong with that! I really want to try some of their already prepared meals one day, as there are a few days where I would come home later and have no time to cook. Much variety, nice workers and good food! We'll be back soon!
I can't say enough good about Luccas. This place is a staple in Castro Valley and I am so glad they are here. The sandwiches are ALWAYS good. Fresh bread, generous with ingredients and the people who work there are always kind. If you're in the area orpassing through, I HIGHLY suggest you stop by. Also, if you can't find parking on the street in front, there is a parking lot inthe back. :
I love the friendly people who make my liverwurst and salami sandwich with cheddar, balsamic and peppercinis on soft bread. I eat that sandwich like it's the last supper. I also pick up the frozen spaghetti with meatballs lasagna. It's all so damn delish! ???

Food poisoning...suspect it was the unclean Lettuce, the opinion of my doctor. I mentioned how old the Lettuce looked for the Chubby, short, Aging, dirty blood female...she rebuffed me harshly! I should have followed my Instincts.
I absolutely love this place! Whenever I'm craving a great sandwich, Lucca's is my go-to. I've been a loyal customer for years and have watched the staff evolve over time, but the service has always been excellent.
I've heard about this place and drove several times. I finally stopped and I'm so glad I did. The sandwich was so good and cheap. The workers were all very friendly
Lucca's Italian Deli features a fantastic variety of meats and homemade sides, accompanied by outstanding service and a genuinely mouthwatering sandwich.
