Lucio's BYOB Grill

Lucio’s is a Houston treasure. Particularly if you’re an oenophile (or, like me, just a cork dork), they have a limited but excellent selection of wines on their list and a modest corkage fee if you want to enjoy that bottle (those bottles) you’ve been laying down for years. But it’s mainly about the food and the service. The chef and main server (husband and wife) consistently deliver. We’ve enjoyed their cuisine and hospitality for many years and hope to continue to do do.

We hadn't been to Lucio's in at least a year, but always enjoyed being able to bring a special bottle of wine to accompany their always excellent food. Our waitperson Ariana (Russia/Ukraine) was excellent, explaining the dishes, and decanting our 1970 Ch Trotanoy. The food: calamari; hanger steak; Australian lamb; Short Ribs; and Brioche Bread Pudding were all terrific. They have undergone a remodel to their interior, and it has a fresh contemporary look. All good!

Appetizers crab cake and clams with chorizo were good. Entrees duck breast and short ribs were fine, but we were not wowed. Dessert brownie with raspberry sorbet was the highlight. Service was attentive, but only 1 server, so she was spread too thin.

The food was excellent and was properly prepared to order. We were checked on by our server and management to ensure food was good Our server was attentive, helpful and did great work.

Wonderful food with very reasonable prices, as well as a great wine list. Also, you can bring your own wine, with a $10 corkage fee. Outstanding!

Wonderful service, great atmosphere, delicious food. Always consistent. This is one of the most underrated restaurants in Houston.
