Lucky Larry's Luncheonette

I stopped by for a quick and easy breakfast before catching my bus to NYC. The bus stop is conveniently located just a block away from the restaurant. The signage may have changed to Happy Healthy Cafe, but rest assured, it is the same place. I ordered a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a plain bagel, toasted, with salt, pepper, and ketchup - a classic choice in New Jersey. I used to get these sandwiches from a deli near my high school, but since it closed and I moved away, I don't have them often. The former Lucky Larry 's is now renamed Happy and Healthy Cafe with new owners and a new renovated look. The new owners and staff are very nice and the place was really spruced up. The food was okay. I had a Chicken Parmesan sandwich which tasted good but the chicken cutlets were way over cooked and when I bit into the sandwich, the meat was hard because the pan-frying. The sauce and cheese were good and the sandwich was on a fresh roll so the quality is very good here but they need to watch the temperature of the food. Still the staff was very nice and very welcoming.

It seems like there may have been a change in ownership at this restaurant. The food was decent but the service was terrible. I would give it 3 stars for the food and 1 star for the lack of attention. I am surprised that they have received higher ratings than this.

I must say so far I have only placed a few orders but the food is OUTSTANDING. The order arrives immaculately wrapped, all the ingredients always taste fresh (crunchy lettuce), fresh tasting chicken/tuna, bravo! My favorite so far is the Tuna sandwich. Réservez une table maintenant

I guess they must have changed ownership....foods okay but service terrible!! 3 star for food, 1 star for lack of attention. How they received higher than this will surprise me.
