Lucky's Primitive Cooking

Local places to eat lunch or dinner are far and few between when visiting Honey Harbour. Lucky's appears primitive' picnic tables for eating and a trailer for cooking by the side of the road but their food is tasty and plentiful. Most people...stop there for the pulled pork which I believe is their speciality. It's a good sized plate and quite tasty. On a sunny day, lunch with friends was quite fun and easy on the pocketbook too. We stopped here after a trip out to the Georgian Bay Islands National Park out on Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay, dressed in our hiking gear, and felt like we fit right in. There aren't many choices of places to eat in that neck of the woods, but Lucky's is a delicious find. It is truly rustic, with a mish-mash of outdoor tables and some indoor space in a large metal quonset hut that is part flea-market and...woodworking shop. People come for Lucky's good food, mostly typical barbeque, coleslaw and perfectly cooked french fries. Most do take-out. We stay and eat and enjoy talking with Lucky and his wife, Heidi. The place has an entertaining atmosphere all it's own. It has become a must-do visit on our annual camping trip to nearby Mile Lake Provincial Park; this year we ate there twice.

We own a cottage near by and it's totally our go to place when we don't want to cook. Heidi and Lucky are super friendly and if you get to know them they will totally give you perks. For example the time they made us...try smoked and then deeped fries chicken wings for free as a test before they put it on the menu for others! Ribs are delicious and the pulled pork soooo yummy... as a sandwich or on a poutine! Poutine has curds too, which is a big plus in Ontario cottage country!

We recently had a party and asked Luckys to put together a variety of food for our event. We opted for the chicken and rib combo and it was amazing. They were very accommodating, on time, , and well worth The value. We ordered and everyone left with doggy bags. Great choice will definitely order from them again. It was nice that they accommodate a group of less than people as other options refused to do so if we did not have more people.

My wife had a surprise party on July and ordered food from Lucky's. The chicken and ribs were to die for. Everybody at the party raved about the food. The meat fell off the bone when eaten. Thank You for making the party....The Cardwell's

Had a very unlucky experience. Owner yelled at us for having a dog and sitting at a picnic table while we waited for our food. Food was both greasy and bland. Would not recommend.

time at the table, Just as great as the first time and Ice Cream just topped it off. Lucky and his wife do a awesome job of cooking and serving up hospitality.

In my top three at the Scotia Centre Food Court! Having said that, the other options are Tim Hortons, A & W, Subway, Booster Juice and Bento Zushi so

Luckys is a neat little spot. They have some unique menu options like smelt fish. They are great. It's what I get when we stop in. Recommended.
