Following my experience at Manze just up the road, I needed a coffee and something to take the taste away (sorry, but it's true) so, having walked a long way up the road, I turned around walked back to Machine. It's a bike shop, it's a bicyle repair shop, and it's a cafe. What's not to like? What a total opposite to the lunch service I'd just endured. The guy behind the counter was welcoming, friendly and charming. The coffee was really excellent the banana cake fresh, moist tasty. I love the decor and ambiance in Machine. It never fails to cheer you up. It's a terrific idea it works superbly well.
I was quoted £35 by another place to fix the slipping gears on my Brompton, would have had to make an appointment for next week and leave my bike there all day. I walked into Machine, it was fixed within 2 minutes and they wouldn't take any money for doing it. I've also had coffee there several times it's a really nice atmosphere, interesting cycling related items for sale, good coffee. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
I cycle past this place on my way to work every day and finally decided to stop there to see what it was like. I ordered a large latte. And I can confirm that indeed they do a fantastic coffee. It was more like a large flat white, which for me was perfect. It's a warm cosy place, with some quirky furniture e.g. Bar stools with Brooks saddles for seats. Definitely worth stopping off to visit.
I had this afternoon a chai latte and a piece of cake whilst discussing about a potential purchase of a bicycle. They have very cute tables and high chairs made up of bicycle wheels and seats! Chai was good and so was the cake.

Nice relaxing little bike café. Recommend. Pretty and informal. Nice little bike bits. Quiet but busy. Great for solo travellers too. Sometimes the staff chat to you which is nice and not always about the cakes.
Visit this coffee shop almost every day for a cappuccino and an almond croissant. I would say they are the best coffee shop in the area. The lady serving is always very friendly too. They also repair bicycles!
Great place, popped in on the way to work for an espresso and an almond croissant. Perfect way to recoup energy for the office, or the ride. Cool decor (brooks saddled stools) and chilled music. Recommended.
OK, this place serves coffee and repairs bicycles. It has great coffee and a nice selection of sandwiches and other small food items. Friendly service completes for a pleasant place.

I visited Machine several days in a row on a trip to London and now that I've moved on I don't quite know what I'll do for good coffee in the morning!!
Lovely service and nice sandwiches. They fix your bike while you have your coffee. There is so much bike memorabilia, perfect for bike lovers
