Maison Boulud - Réservation de table

We had dinner at "Maison Boulud" on the evening of August 19. It was a beautiful night and we got to sit right by the duck pond on the back terrace of the restaurant. That was a perfect spot. I had asked for this when I made the reservation, but, the restaurant could not confirm that they would be able to accommodate my request. It was therefore a welcome surprise to get this fabulous table.The whole dinner experience was wonderful. Our hostess was charming and very nice and helpful. We had brunch at Maison Boulud today. We are already familiar with the sister restaurant in London.Two of the guests had smoked salmon to start with, whilst two others had panzanella (excellent tomato salad) and a fromage de tête which was excellent as well. This was followed by two lobster in brioche, a morels omelette, as well as a hamburger. The lobster in brioche (additional $12 to the $44 two course menu) did not have enough lobster chunks and far too much brioche! the omelette was delicious and the burger was good although the beef was tasty but too small. This restaurant is terrific! We reserved a garden-side table for lunch. The garden is lovely, with flowers, a pond and ducks. The service is excellent and everything we ordered was delicious. For example, the fig and grape salad was great. The duck and the sea bream main courses were fantastic. The chocolate lava cake was super, and so was the rhubarb dessert (but small!) With coffee, we ordered a basket of warm madeleines for the table and they were delicious. The bill for six 3-course lunches plus one bottle of wine, and tax and tip was $600. We went to have dinner on the terrace in a beautiful setting, however, our table was located in a passageway where all the staff circulated, it was stunning ... this place should not exist as it detracts a lot from the experience, especially when we pay $ 400 for a dinner for 2. Fortunately our server, Philippe, was listening and we changed tables to have our coffee in peace, we should have asked for a change long before. At first, service was a little slow but improved once I spoke with a supervisor. We were 3 people and started off with 6 oysters on ice ($29.00 mama mia!!!). We then each had an appetizer followed by another appetizer and split a dessert 3 ways.Food was of the highest quality with an Italian slant as the chef is from Bologna.If you go, and I will return, bring lots of money! For the plate of oysters, a $100 bottle of wine, 6 appetizers and 1 dessert..ta da...$475.00The one we definitely did not like the lack of tablecloths.

We had lunch, dinner and breakfast here over the 3 days and all were very tasty. The breakfast was our least favorite, nothing special. But they offer a 2 and 3 course meal for lunch which was fantastic and a great value. Dinner was just lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal! Ask to sit on the terrace! It backs onto a beautiful garden with a large water feature and ducks. Such a lovely view to enjoy with your meal.

Food was good but not as excellent as what I expect. For a highly priced resturant I expect everything to be perfect. Starters were ok but presented poorly with lamb pate bit dry. Oyster does not taste fresh. Main courses were excellent

First time on the magnificent terrace of the Boulud house! A real pleasure. The service was perfect and all the dishes were neat and tasty. It was one of the most beautiful evenings for a very long time! Thanks to the whole team ! Réservez une table maintenant
