We have been dining at Makiyaki for 20 years since moving to SL. During Covid, we switched to ordering through Doordash. Unfortunately, this time the food quality was disappointing. The rice was old and hard, the katsu was tough and served in smaller portions than usual, the tuna was mealy, and the Crazy Horse roll was noticeably smaller. Even the tempura dipping sauce was only filled about a third of the usual amount. This experience was truly disheartening.
The food at Makiyaki is delicious. We arrived 30 minutes before closing, but the dishes were still amazing, so we decided to take some home. The tempura was very fresh, the beef teriyaki tender, and the California roll perfectly fresh. The service was friendly and excellent. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to Makiyaki to explore more of their menu when I have more time.
My wife and I always dine at this place. I placed a takeout order, and when I went to pick it up, the woman asked if I wanted some Sriracha sauce. She said the Sriracha sauce cost extra. That’s fine if you’re eating in, but it’s definitely a downside for takeout customers like me.
I always enjoy the delicious food at Makiyaki! They consistently get my order right, and it always arrives at the perfect temperature, whether hot or cold. My favorite items from their menu are the Dinner Bento and maki rolls, especially since I’m not a fan of raw seafood. Réservez une table maintenant
Really enjoyed a recent meal here with a friend while visiting from out of town. I enjoyed their vegetarian options quite a bit. Easy spot for parking and dining in. Good service as well. I hope to return when visiting again!
Makiyaki is a highly popular Japanese restaurant that I have been dining at for years. The customer service is outstanding, and the food is exceptional. You really can’t beat it.
I love the 2-item Bento box—there are plenty of options to choose from. The portions are reasonable and the food is delicious. We order from Makiyaki often.
