Mala Project is one of my go to spots for visitors to introduce them to dry pot! It?s such a fun dining experience picking out the individual ingredients and enjoying it with their flavorful, delicious spicy sauce. Even if you can handle some spice, Iwould recommend the mild level. Last time I had the medium level, I felt like my mouth was on fire but maybe I am justweak . I came here with a group of 6 on a Sunday evening with out of town guests. I typically visit the East Village location, which is more spacious and lively. For large parties 6+ , I had to email for a reservation and only the Midtown West locationhad availability. It was a cozier and quieter dining experience. For small plates, I would recommend the liangfen of happytears, a refreshing mung bean jelly noodle dish with chili oil sauce. For the mala dry pot, it?s all about personal preferenceand customization all ingredients are high quality and fresh. We did 28 items for 6 people they recommend 4 6 ingredients perperson and were uncomfortably full. I would recommend the beef eye of round or tenderloin , quail eggs, lotus root, tofupockets, enoki mushrooms, taro, and glass noodles. Note that it is automatic 20% gratuity for large parties. After doubling upon some of the items, it ended up being $220 for 6 people $37pp . With winter upon us, I will definitely be returning for morecomforting, mouth watering food.

I was visiting NYC for the weekend and it was my first dry pot. Such a delicious dining experience. I had the pork belly dry pot and ordered it spicy. I love spicy but was a little hesitant because it was a new restaurant for me. It was richly spicy withoutbeing ridiculous. I could still taste all of the flavors. And I loved the blend of ingredients. It was so good that I hope to goagain before we leave.

One of the best Chinese food. Located walking distance from Time square. Vegetarians you will get the best fried rice, if you don?t like spicy ask them to make mild. I really enjoyed Xiangxi Vegetarian fried rice, with really spicy touch. We reallyenjoyed our dinner. A must try place

The portion for MALA DRY POT (Build Your Own/Build To Share)(L) is getting smaller and smaller every time order. I really love their food but I just wish they stay consistent with portions. I only got half of what I used to get for the same . Disappoiting
