Over the last or so years we have dined at Malt, perhaps times per year, for Sunday breakfast after our regular Sunday morning walk with close friends. For the years or so Malt was a regular one of our favourites....About years ago we had a really bad experience very slow poor table service, cold coffees meals that were less than acceptable. We expressed our disappointment to management they offered us free coffees next time we dined, with the promise of a better experience. Great outlook over the Brisbane river. Unfortunately, it was embarrassing to take our out-of-town friends to this restaurant ... due to the floor staff that made it obvious that they did not want to be at work. This was our second visit to this restaurant...in two years. Yesterday was a completely different experience to our first. The maître d’ provided the best service of the staff on the floor yesterday and his service was only average. We had a pm Saturday booking. The staff only smiled when we were “departing” the restaurant at pm. The food was very enjoyable, thank you to the chefs. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the service.

It’s got the view, it’s got the ambiance and it’s got the food! This is a great venue between the two Piers at Newstead, overlooking the Brisbane River. A few outside tables on the pavement, though most tables are indoors behind glazing for your uninterrupted...views. Delicious menu, good service, reasonably priced. What more could you wish for? Ah, good company and an excuse for the indulgence

Four of us met for a delightful breakfast. The smashed avo and eggs and croissants were delightful as was the berry smoothie. Coffees could have been hotter. Service was prompt. Service was also mixed: one waitress was blunt and didn’t deal with a spilt coffee...at all (I would have thought a bill might have elicited better service); the other (French) waitress was lovely recommended overall. Not the best experience, wouldn’t be returning anytime soon. Expensive for what it is, ingredient alterations such as removal of a sauce not taken into consideration. Mango smoothie was nothing like a mango whatsoever, coffees are weak. The staff do not know what social distancing...is, especially leaning on the table to take peoples orders.

Went for breakfast and experienced good coffee and eggs in nice setting. Needed to book table and found people waiting for our table before we were finished. Wait staff were pleasant. Lots of paid parking on street.

Found this little cafe tucked away near the water, one of the best iced coffees I’ve ever had and the staff were so friendly. Didn’t have time to eat but great coffee

Had such a positive experience, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and service. Chocolate brownie is a must! Can’t wait for my next visit! Réservez une table maintenant

Had a few very breakfast and couple of lunch. Service is always friendly and their change their lunch menu often. Food is always nice and testy.

The staff were very happy and friendly, a good spot for breakfast, the breakfast was lovely, but the coffee was below average
