"We enjoyed a delicious meal at Mare Monte! The highlights were the Artichoke appetizer - fresh with capers and spinach in bright sauce. We ordered the mushroom ravioli served in a rose cream sauce with small pieces of crab! Delicious! My husband ordered the squids with shrimps, mussels and scallops in a red sauce! Fresh and bright - the pasta was homemade and only a tad undercooked. Still delicious!!! I had the chicken-mountain that was delightful!!!"

The first time here and it was great. Came at 4:30 and only one more couple came in until we were at 6. The tables are beautifully spaced and the decor is charming. Very clean. Our waiter Aldo was also very attentive and friendly. The bread that comes before the meal was warm fluffy goodness. The asparagus soup was so good! It looks rich, but it is light and only a touch creamy. Loved how good it was seasoned and asparagus taste was phenomenal. The best part was how hot the soup was. What a charming and romantic restaurant in Haddonfield. We ordered mostly the evening specials because they sounded amazing. The meal started with grilled octopus over broccoli rabe and the burrata with melon and mortedella . The octopus was very tender and not chewy at all. I loved that it came over broccoli rabe but the tomatoe caper sauce was so good. I really enjoy a salty and sweet flavor combination and the burrata special hit that for me. My husband order the veal chop special that was delicious. The veal was cooked properly topped with jumbo lump crabmeat in an amazing gorganzola sauce. Mare Monte never disappoints! Ambience, service and food are excellent. Classic Italian dishes combined with creative daily specialties make it hard to choose. The food is prepared by scratches and with care. It never feels like they're trying to do too much with a court. Fresh seafood and high quality meat, very cheap. Last time I was there, I ordered the veal apron, with one side of pasta in oil and garlic. Both came out as I expected; the calf was perfectly cooked and the pasta was not swimming in oil. Definitely a favorite in the area! Keep it on Mare Monte!
