Came to Metuchen to try this new Mexican restaurant, was not impressed with anything at the place, host was very cold, food was not seasoned well at all. Here are my thoughts ?: Crispy Tacos (beef) ?: the ground beef was extremely under seasoned, had no taste to it, the accompanying Beans and Rice also were underwhelming. Would not recommend having. California burrito Loco (chicken) ?: Again the chicken and rice were dramatically under seasoned. Very Rice forward, small chicken volume. The red sauce with it also was underwhelming with the salad. This was my first time at Mariachi, and the food was very, very good! The first course was a shrimp scampi, which was extremely flavorful and not overcooked like most places cook shrimp! I would return for this alone! I also got the trio of fajitas withthe chicken, steak and shrimp. These were also flavorful and very well cooked, as nothing was dry and tasteless. I willcertainly be back, and I recommend this place for anyone who wants good food in the area.
We went to Mariachi restaurant in Metuchen last weekend for a family lunch. The food was quite good and the prices reasonable, the reason I would go there again. Since the weather was not great, and there were very few other customers in the restaurant. Still, the service was quite poor. We literally had to go and call the server to come take our orders. Maybe this was an exception, but certainly detracted from our experience.

There is only wine and sangria options for alcoholic drinks. I live in NY so won't be back but even if I lived close by I would probably find a more suitable Mexican venue for what I was looking for. For those who just want a small Mexican place with decent food it's a good fit.

Food tasted fresh and delicious! The portions are good enough that you don?t feel bloated and heavy after eating. It seemed like there was only one server working, covering the guests inside and outside, and even then service was amazing! She misheard my appetizer order and corrected it promptly without issue, and checked on us frequently enough that we didn?t feel smothered.
Table side Guacamole AMAZING. Tacos, set of 3 you will not go hungry and so fresh!! We go there often, more reviews to come. BYOB and they will make sangria if you bring the wine
eating is absolutely delicious! beautiful service in a relaxed atmosphere. the table page guacamole is amazing. highly recommended
