We had a reservation for 7:30pm on a Saturday night, so we knew the place would be full and noisy. It was. There were several large parties and birthday celebrations taking place around us in the dining room area. Other than that everything was PERFECT! The crab toast appetizer was excellent! Our entrees and sides were prepared as requested and were DELICIOUS! Our server was hustling between many tables but managed to keep our drinks topped. We all had a wonderful dinner with enough leftovers to be able to enjoy again in a day or two! For two meals each the prices were pretty reasonable. Sammy's has become one of my go-to restaurants for Italian. Can't wait to go back!!!
We were at Sammy's for dinner once before and encouraged our friends to meet us there for lunch. It wasn't busy and we got water, bread and drinks promptly. But when the food came 3 of us got our food and the 4th who ordered salmon didn't. No explanation. We waited while our food was getting cold. Finally we started to eat. After about 10 minutes I found someone, not our waiter and complained. I was told the salmon takes a while to cook even though one other person got salmon on her salad. Finally they came to say the salmon was never cooked and offered something else. Apologies were made but I feel that this is really the biggest faux pas for restaurants.
