I recently dined at Pantry, located in Long Island City, and I must say that my experience was far from satisfactory. The restaurant's exterior and display seemed enticing, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we were met with overpriced, oily food that did not meet our expectations.To begin with, the menu did not display any prices. In hindsight, we should have asked for the prices, but we didn't anticipate the cost to be as exorbitant as it turned out to be. I came across Pantry Market Eatery while looking for small, local businesses to provide some coffee and pastries for an indie film shoot in Queens. The folks over at Pantry Market Eatery were so nice, helpful, and incredibly generous in giving us a greatdiscount for our low budget film shoot. Thanks to Ari and the rest of the team, we were well-caffeinated and well-fed for a longshoot day. Definitely recommend if you?re looking to work with an affordable yet professional team, love supporting localbusinesses, or if you just want to drop by for a coffee and treat. As a local who frequents the area, I used to order breakfast and lunch from this delightful spot quite often. The staff has always been extremely attentive and friendly, creating a warm atmosphere. Their salads have consistently been fresh and enjoyable.However, over time, I've observed a decline in both the quality and quantity of the food, which has led to less frequent visits. Despite these changes, I continue to appreciate this establishment and hope they can regain their consistency in quality. I look forward to returning in a few months to see if any positive improvements have been made.
Had a corporate catered lunch from Pantry, and my Tex-mex salad was tasteless, the order was late, and they forgot someone's sandwich on the order. The Tex-mex salad sounds enticing with plenty of veggie toppings, beans, and crumbled chips, but the dressing was off putting. It was just a greenish yellow liquid that didn't have much taste. The salad was so boring and super overpriced at nearly $18. Wouldn't recommend sadly.
The inside dining area is cramped but nicely decorated. The real moss wall is a really nice touch! The service is friendly and reasonable fast and the drink options are well-chosen. I enjoyed the Kentucky BBQ burger burger, done medium. It was fantastic! My only beef is that the bread was soggy and difficult to handle. The price was a bit high $10 for a burger, otherwise a great experience overall.
