Marmotte - Réservation de table

I was excited to visit La Marmotte with my partner, it was meant to be a romantic, idyllic location with perfect mountain views.. sadly the views were the only positive thing about La Marmotte. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with an unenthusiastic welcome.. in fact, given we were a little past the 8pm requirement (why have such a rigid requirement on a Saturday night? I was spoken to with slight contempt and told that we had to make a choice given the kitchen was shortly closing, that is not a way to build a rapport with customers and locals in my opinion, a restaurant should go out of its way for customers, that is a way to build a reputation and get repeat business, this concep...

in a nicely dressed cabin, come and taste the proposed home products. Are all the tables unoccupied? only to that you will have a small place, the time to taste a glass of white and a small plate of Valais, while outside, the storm rages. of the prevenance and a sense of welcome.

This is the best place I have found so far on the mountains above Verbier. The menu is simple but good and the ambience of their place is excellent. On top of that the staff are helpful and efficient - so that's pretty much what you want in the middle of a day's skiing!

We came back for a second time just for their special Suisse Tiramisu. The restaurant is in a great location, accessible by car and in the middle of the beautiful hiking trail. Amazing view on Verbier, and a playground for the kids. Very friendly staff, Réservez une table maintenant

This is a classic Swiss mountain restaurant with great food and an excellent wine list including rare Valais wines. But if you can take the sledge ride down after dinner. It's deeply memorable.

Every year, we are looking forward to eating in this place with Swiss charm. We taste the Valais specialities. Cèpes fondue is delicious. Thank you.
