I visited this restaurant for a casual game of poker and ended up leaving with bruises. The staff tried to physically fight me when I won, and they also lacked a good selection of ciders. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. The Chequers nearby is a much better option. Additionally, the bartender was discriminatory. Overall, I cannot think of any reason to give this establishment any stars out of 5, although I am unable to rate it a zero.

We popped in for a quick drink with friends. The service was fast and friendly since it was not busy at the time. There is ample seating inside and a small outdoor area, but I recommend sitting in the front if the weather is nice. There are plenty of seats and it's enjoyable to relax and people watch. Definitely worth a visit for a drink!

Not really much to say except I am perfectly satisfied with the Marquis of Lorne. They serve beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. It's a fairly old but un-spoilt establishment. Yes from time to time I'll return. There's a lot of choice in our old town.

The menus is small, service is bad. The manager was really rude to us she wouldn’t take our discount code because they don’t accept it, despite it being clearly signposted as a Greene king pub. They also had no food available, we were told ‘when it’s gone, it’s gone’ Réservez une table maintenant

We had my retirement party here in the room above the pub and all had a great time. The food and decorations were excellent and the room just cosy enough for 30+ people. The room hire was very reasonable. The staff worked very hard all evening Thanks very much

I went to this pub a few times over the weekend. The staff was very friendly and they had a great selection of beers and lagers. The locals were entertaining and welcoming. This was one of the best pubs we visited and I would definitely recommend stopping by.

The choice of beers are absolutely fine. As it was a lovely evening I and my friends sat outside in the sunshine. A very pleasent place on the High Street. Will visit again the next time I'm in Stevenage.

One of the few pubs left that ' still 'wet trade ' (i.e. it doesn 't do food). It would be even better without the tellies and fruit machines. A good place to sit outside and watch the world go by Réservez une table maintenant

Came here before our meal in old town and found a proper traditional pub. Good beer, friendly service and comfortable seating. A nice garden out front to watch the world go by.
