To start, I enjoyed the samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a delicious mix of spices and vegetables. For the main course, I couldn't resist the butter chicken, a creamy and rich dish that was absolutely divine. The naan bread was fluffy and paired beautifully with the curry. My dining partner chose the vegetable biryani, and we were both impressed by the fragrant blend of spices and the perfectly cooked rice.
What truly distinguished Masala Cafe was the attention to detail and dedication to traditional cooking methods. It was clear that the chefs take immense pride in their craft, which was evident in every dish.

This is a pure gem, if you are looking for authentic chettinad cuisine in and around jersey city, this is the place. They have great variety of item from vegetarian to mutton to seafood. We had South Indian food which was pretty goodThe idli was soft just like how you get idlis in Tamil NaduThe tomato chutney and coconut chutney were good too. The Sambar was a little bland . Could have been more spicierWe also ordered uttapam and veg kothu parota. The kothu parota was decent . Had some pepper aftertaste For the uttapam you have to select toppings like onion , tomato , podi etc... the toppings they charge for additional. The additional charge can be avoided The service was quick . Since we went around 11 am on a weekday the place was empty The place is small so I assume in rush hours one would have to wait for a table
We recently placed an order from this restaurant through Grubhub, but unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory.We tried the Egg Kothu Parotta, and it arrived quite soggy and lacking in taste, which was disappointing.In terms of vegetarian curries, we ordered the Paneer Chettinad, but the paneer had a rubbery texture, and the gravy was overly spiced with masala. We also tried the Malai Kofta, which was passable in taste but far from being the best we've had.Overall, our experience with the food from this restaurant was not good.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I didn’t have high expectations. However, the food was fantastic! The person who took our order was extremely friendly and made great recommendations based on our preferences. He mentioned that they make their own masala powder, which really enhanced the flavors of the dishes. I definitely recommend this place, and I hope they maintain the same quality of food in the future, even when they become busier.
We ordered online from their website. The food was great, one of the best Indian food I have had in US. Tried a few different dishes. Everything had great flavor. A few friends and I decided to stop by this restaurant after checking out the reviews on Yelp. Since I haven't had much Indian food before, I chose a dish at random. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere had a lovely, peaceful vibe. Oh, and it was my first time trying masala tea—what a wonderful flavor!
This was a great choice for South Indian food. The egg biryani was full of warm spices and had just the right level of heat. The vada had great texture, and the sambar was also seasoned well. The portions are quite large. This is a solid choice in Jersey City.

4 small chicken lollipops for $17 ? wow!!Fish was good and clay pot rice but for me not going again. There are other great restaurants on Indian street.
