I was so hungry that I ate the main meal in a hurry so I don't have any pictures... I had Tempura Udon and the soup was so delicious!! The tempura and udon were served separately, so the tempura didn't get soggy and the batter was thin, so it felt like real Japanese tempura. Moreover, there was a veggie option, which was perfect for someone like me who doesn't like fried shrimp. The vegetables were well-fried and really delicious. And they even gave me a cake as a service, which I was very impressed with. It was a taste that couldn't be found in the UK, and the mocha cake was the best. Crab and beef were mediocre. Iced Mochi, the dessert, was nice tho. I didn't try sushi but from the reviews I read, I recommend you not to try other food but sushi. My friend took me here for my birthday back in June and we loved it, food was lovely and we liked the early dinner menu pricing this is a nice touch. Service was out standing all staff are so lovely and attentive and they came out with a cake and candle for me singing happy birthday. Definitely coming back, in-fact have booked a table already :
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in London. I love sashimi, they have one of top quality of fish and thier tempura was the best! My son is very picky eater, but he loves food here! Chicken teriyaki was surprisingly delicious, I think they have a little bit different recipe. The staffs are very friendly too.

A solid Japanese restaurant. The food here nicely blends traditional and modern flavors, and it's better than most other Japanese places I've tried. The service is attentive without being overbearing, and the prices are fair for what you get. I think this place deserves a spot on Richmond's list of good eats.
Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with our meal at matsuba. My partner and I had been meaning to go for a while and visited on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were pleasant. Unfortunately the good lacked much flavour, it felt extremely overpriced and generally was a disappointment.
Lovely decor, friendly and attentive service (on a busy Friday evening), a nice vibe and tasty food. What’s not to like. We enjoyed the matusba salad nothing special about the salad ingredients but the dressing is incredible. Tuna steak main delicious as was the seafood udon noodle dish. Well done team.
Matsuba is exceptional. This restaurant is top-notch with a five-star rating in every category! I highly recommend it and it is now my favorite place to eat. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious!

Absolutely amazing! The food is better than something you would get in MayFair! It’s wonderful, staff are beyond kind, chef is amazing! Definitely recommend! I’ve been several times and am never let down!
