Nach langer Hotelsuche kamen wir im Mattenhof an. Wir haben inkl. Frühstück für 2 Personen pro Nacht 130€ gezahlt. Normaler Preis in der Schweiz. Der Mattenhof bietet Hostelzimmer (Mehrbettzimmer und Doppelzimmer) und Hotelzimmer an. Wir waren im Hostelbereich in einem Doppelzimmer, wobei ich nicht sagen kann, wo der Hotelbereich war. Ein Hotelzimmer sollte aber 200€ kosten.Das Zimmer war recht schön und neu eingerichtet, das Bad war weniger schön. Sehr zweckmäßig und es schien in das Zimmer nachträglich hineingebaut worden zu sein. Der Ausblick aus unserem Zimmer war gigantisch (siehe Foto).Wir hatten die Möglichkeit auch in andere Zimmer hineinzuschauen, diese waren nicht so schön wie unse...
In an amazing liberty building you will find the Mattenhof resort 10 minutes away from city center. Charming, old fashioned, you will find this building almost as it was 100 years ago. Very little renovation has taken place in the meantime which makes of this place a truly fascinating one. Almost like a spell bound castle. Room, well mine was spacious with a beautiful little terrace to enjoy a fantastic mountain view. All amenities constrained to the bare minimum, safe not working, bed reasonably comfortable, bathroom good enough with a working shower. Again strong piece was the view from the windows. For a couple of days is good enough. Otherwise the rundown atmosphere would probably affect...
As the pictures show, Mattenhof was a grand hotel in its day. But that day was before World War I. Today, it is just hanging on by bottom-feeding. One wing operates as a youth hostel under the name "The Funny Farm," and that is the clientele that hangs out around the pool. The guests in the hotel proper consist primarily of Asian tour groups. The furnishings are functional but decidedly low end. The breakfast was adequate but neither extensive nor gracious. The hotel, which I booked on short notice through Priceline because the price was attractive, provided a functional place to sleep for our family, but I wouldn't book it again--even for an attractive price!
This is a nice resort where we spent a night. It is just far enough away from the busier parts of town that it feels like a quiet getaway but close enough that it's possible to walk to Interlaken Ost. The only snag was we had some difficulty finding vegetarian food at breakfast and the staff member there was quite rude to us about it. The people who run the hotel are so friendly! The food is so delicious and decently priced! The gardens and pool are immaculate and breath-takingly beautiful. The free wifi is fast and the lobby a great space for meeting backpackers. The rooms are clean and housekeeping is good. It's ideally situated in Matten which is away from the bustle but close enough to walk to the West or East train station.
Vintage hotel, small bathroom. More described as a 2-3 star hotel than a resort. Sounds from wooden floor as people move.. quite annoying. Nice reception area with couple of need to pay games (eg. billiard). Breakfast was limited only boiled eggs, cheese, ham and Jam. Expensive but all Switzerland places are.
It's a charming place with old Swiss country feel but the wallpapering in the bathroom give it an out dated feel. The view from the rooms is unbeatable and the garden is beautiful and well kept.The breakfast left something to be desired and the whole place smelled like Indian curry in the evening.
Stayed at hotel Mattenhof resort. The hotel location is very peaceful and still approachable from commercial area. The view from the rooms is excellent. Rooms with balcony and at higher floors offer really excellent views. The staff is also helpful. Réservez une table maintenant
