I like to discover new Fish and Chip joints and this place was on my radar. Drove there at lunch. Small old dive restaurant, potential to be a hidden gem. Seats about 20, on a Friday lunch, was one couple an older Scottish lady with died blonde hair (reminded me of a aunt) and I sat down in the window. The presence of the old dearie suggested to me this place will be good. Chinese lady took my order, her Chinese hubbie at the fryer. Ordered the Halibut and Chips, 10.95 plus tax, great deal.It arrived quickly, was OK. The elderly Scottish lady finished and got up, clearly had been there many times but tol the woman that the fish was "wet and oily".She offere that she knows this happens sometimes and she would be back but she wanted to let them know. She hit the nail on the head. Once the Scottish lady left, I doubled the inpout, saying the lady was right, fish was wet and oily not flaky. Woman replied that Halibut is a fatty fish but I returned it should be flaky and light.Fries were good. Batter was nice. Wet oliliness was at the fish level inside the batter.Tartar sauce was in a ketchup style squeeze container and was very Thousand Island-ish.The Scottish lady will be back, she was walking and lives nearby and has limited choices. I am driving and will not try it again. j

This place is tucked into a small plaza, nearby the Scarborough Gen Hospital. The usual clientele would be senior citizens, so rants about health issues are common. The place seems popular as lunchtime is almost always a full house. Aside from the Halibut and Chips, Haddock, Cod, Scallops and Shrimp are available. For years, I have always enjoyed their Grouper as it was relatively cheaper and had much more fish, but with the recent price increase, the Grouper was no longer part of the menu. The Chips (fries) are always fresh-cut and cooked properly, or as I have seen – cooked as requested. Home-made Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce is one of the better ones out there. The Fish and Chips are never found to be greasy at all and always well battered. This is a family-run business and the hostess is always cheerful and attentive. She always remembers the orders of the regular customers and that to me is exceptional service. The place is dated but the owners have touched it up recently. For a quick, above-average Fish and Chips, this east-end Toronto place is a ‘must-try’.

Small family run establishment with great fish and chips and reasonable prices. This is my go-to fish and chips place and fortunately only minutes away. The batter is always light and crispy and the fries are phenomenal. Portions are generous. I usually order takeout by phone and pick up. Never had any issues. Only time there is a serious wait is Good Friday. Orders can be over an hour long and patrons will wait for hours!

We ate here yesterday. This is a nice mom and pop fish and chip place. They have tables for dine in and also do a lot of take out service. The owner is a very nice hard working man. Service was good. They were a little understaffed. The food was ok.
