If you've travelled the world like me, you'll have seen as many Irish Pubs as me. Guys, the ONLY Irish pubs are are in (uhm...) Ireland. Or so I thought....This place in an absolute gem. Love it or not, this is a small corner of Ireland in the middle of Cairns. The Kilkenny and Guinness are both as smooth as velvet, I'd know, Ive just had one of each, and I'm here typing this right now!PLEASE visit and drink a pint of Ireland and prove me wrong. Go on.I only get to come here on business once or twice a year from Brisbane, but this is a worthwhile visit. In fact, it makes my trip.etc!
A friend told my husband about this Irish bar. We went on a Sunday night and they had musician jam sessions starting at 4pm. We were so glad that we decided to go on Sunday versus Monday. It is closed on Monday. The musicians were so good and they sang quit well. Even one of the musicians got up and did some Irish tap dancing. Friendly owners. Paddy and his wife came up to us after they were done playing. He shared the story on the history of the pub. I can't tell you. You need to go there and find out for yourself. Loved this place
Great selection of beers on tap, you can have a pot, schooner or pint. Taps are clean as- our beers were exceptional and the perfect temperature. Service was beyond amazing! The owners both talked to us and we had a lovely time. It's the real deal- NOT a tourist pub or a cheap tacky sticky hole. The bar was made of beautiful raw wood and nothing was remotely dirty at all. Even the loos were perfect. A real treat.
We visited McGintys recently for a slightly boozy staff night out. The bar was packed, the atmosphere wonderful with a great band playing. Service quick and very good with very astute staff being very cautious and cautious when it came to all manners of duty and different 'walks of life' of team Big thanks to Clare and the team for an awesome, very well managed venue.

Small pub with a few regular and the bar maid speaks Gaelic. That and a perfectly poured Guinness and you don't really need to have the pictures of Ireland and the music, but they add a nice touch. Stopped by for a pint most days and was never disappointed. Even the day they called the refrigeration repairman out because the taps were not the right temp.
i go every Sunday to listen to the music. The musicians are fantastic - very fun and lively. Makes me think of Ireland. It is the place where you just have to be there and hope something is happening - which it always is. Robyn is awesome. So welcoming. You feel like part of the family.
Only stopped for a quick drink , but the bar was very quant! Barmaid was lovely and friendly! No outside seating which was a shame : ( but looking at my hubbies pint of Guinness those pipes are lovely and clean!! :))
Definitely this place has the best Guinness in town, so if you're looking a few while here I'd recommend McGinty's also the staff are very friendly. The night I was there they also had a live band playing

Little Irish bar with a little jam sesh going on!! Could be in Ireland with a great selection of tap beers and ciders and... Guinness!!!! Great barman too!! :)
anesthets about this jewel that goes for a walk. heard the seisiún (amazing) and had to stop for a guiness. a must if in cairns.
