Meditarraneo is hands down the best Greek restaurant I've tried in the Waterloo area. I wanted to clarify that each appetizer came out 10-20 minutes apart, not 10-20 minutes from our arrival. This wait time between appetizers was unreasonable. Our waitress was lovely and we were seated promptly at 5:30pm, ordering within 10 minutes. However, the appetizers were served at different times, with dinner arriving at 6:45pm, resulting in a long wait. The pricing of $20 for one skewer of chicken, half cup of rice, quarter cup of salad, and 2-3 medium potatoes seemed excessive. The $14 "large" village salad was actually quite small, making it hard to justify the cost with the quantity. The flavors were fantastic and authentic, but the portion size did not match the price.
Was a walk in on Friday night, it was quite busy, however they were very accommodating. We did leave our name and a table would be ready in 45 minutes. It was ready as promised and the food was worth waiting for. I had the spanakopita platter and it was delicious. The rice , the salad and spanakopita were delicious. The potatoes were exceptional, they were cooked to perfection and super moist. Had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Do not hesitate to try this restaurant, I would recommend you make reservations as it is very busy.
Got takeout and it was phenomenal! We had the Mediterranean Platter, came with lamb chops, pork chicken souvlaki, gyros, moussaka, rice, potatoes and salad. Enough for a family of 5 or plenty of leftovers for 3. Delicious, the meat was so moist which is hard to come by with chicken and pork. Everything was fresh. Takeout was a breeze and the staff was lovely. Even offered me a glass of water while I waited! Highly recommend!Kid friendliness: My kiddo loved the Mediterranean Platter!
Had been to this restaurant many years ago several times and remembered it as being one of my favorites. Great menu, also do catering. A little disappointed in the service this time and missed the cheery older gentleman that used to come out from the kitchen to say hello, but things change. Miss the dolmakis on the app menu. Still an amazing meal for a reasonable price.
My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch today that we ended up overeating ? everything was so good. Chicken souvlaki was really tender, calamari was perfectly seasoned and crispy, I will probably have dreams about it. The salad was even delicious that I ended up eating it all and it was a pretty generous serving. Can't wait to come back.
Nice restaurant. You can tell the staff works hard. They are receptive to comments and will ensure you are satisfied before you leave.All the food was lovely. I recommend the calamari, fries, chicken souvlaki (and the rice is lovely too! , and caeser salad. The raspberry cheesecake is also nice.
