Was hopping to get a late night bite to eat with my lady. We settled on this place as it was the only diner in a 10 mile area open. It was really not busy, at least five servers for maybe 9 tables and a few togos. We waited almost 30 minutes for our app. The app was ok, fries obviously old but that’s whatever. My entree however, laughable. The mashed potato’s were THE SAME TEMP AS A WALK-IN. They literally got a scoop straight out of the fridge and called it a day. Coleslaw was room temp which is incredibly concerning as it’s mayonnaise based. To top it off, I never got to share these problems as our waiter NEVER checked back in our table. Great food. Heard the servers yelling at the cooks about them building the burgers wrong. Then the servers all were gossiping near the booths by the register instead of paying attention to anyone. The food that cane out was cooked well, tasted great but had a very long wait. I believe there was 8 other tables full and one large party while we were there. Banana milkshake was delicious! I will be back... eventually.
Excellent variety of dishes for lunch and dinner...starting in the afternoon...as well as delicious drinks...exquisite omelettes...individual and group tables...excellent service...good service...very The girls who serve you are kind...I recommend it.
Not busy but had a comfortable atmosphere. Food was excellent, the onion rings were the best id ever had and there ranch dip was amazing and im not a ranch fan. The burger was okay, but adding the ranch made it so much better.

Always perfect experience at Mel’s honestly, but if you are assigned a snotty waitress, ask for another instead. Don’t let them ruin your gas and appetite. The midtown location is best.
Great place for a taste of nostalgia. Open 24/7 makes it even better. They no longer serve the blueplate special of their iconic meatloaf
