This is our favorite spot for fish and chips. The portions are generous and the fried food is cooked to perfection. The chips, potato cakes, and other items have a satisfying crunch. They also offer delicious old school burgers. There is a wide selection of fish options including grilled, battered, and crumbed. The shop and kitchen area are very clean.
Tried Mermaid fish and chips tonight for the first time. It was great, burgers with the lot were solid for a fish n chip shop, cheese was melted and bun held together well. Potato cakes and dim sims had a good crunch and great taste. Didn't have chips this time, but will definitely be back.
This restaurant has the potential to be a fantastic fish and chip shop. The female cooks are excellent at preparing burgers. The only issue is that the elderly man refuses to step away from the fryers, resulting in overcooked food.
