I have just visited Meson Darling with my Spanish friends. From the outside it just looks like a typical Spanish bar in Cuenca. However, as soon as you step inside there is a lovely atmosphere, a seated dining area or seats around the bar if you prefer. The free tapas with a drink is excellent and varied, the variety of food on offer is varied, tasty, and really good quality. The specialities of Cuenca are delicious, I particularly recommend the morteruela which was superb. Forget the more expensive restaurants in the old town catering for foreign tourists, give this place a try, you won't regret it! The wine is also great value!
We went there on advice of the owner of the apartments in which we stayed. And we really enjoyed the food, but we should go back to try other plates. We took a salad, gazpacho del pastor, and although the later looks like an omelette, it's much more than that!
no doubt the best place to eat in the basin! That's why we repeat 4 times! the morteruelo, ajoarriero, the ear and cheese on the spectacular dish but certainly the best offer on the part of the service! Thank you guys for leaving the lead on our vacation!
I've got a lot of drops from this place, the attention to the staff is very good, they are very generous dishes, so here you can be guided by the waiter, and the great prices, being small, book before. It's a very clean place,

a restaurant more than recommended. The food is all exquisite. Don't stop trying the bounced lamb handnuffs and the codillo. impeccable attention. rations are very abundant and very economical.
