My wife invited me to this restaurant for my birthday. The ambiance is nice and stylish, maybe a bit cold. The service is very young and not very experienced, had some good tipps for the meal and wine, but nothing more and the waiting times were much too long. The cook seems to be a bit arrogant and since the Michelin gave his star its gone above all limits. The dishes represent widely apart from some homoepathic Wagyu meat slices materials that have low prime costs though dishes that cost a minimum 55 CHF even in Switzerland if you compare it to the purchase price of CHF 3-7 its exaggerated. All in all, a big write-off as all other Michelin-starred restaurants in this town.
Although this restaurant has a Michelin star the food exceeded our expectations. Having eaten in several Michelin 3 star restaurants, I am confident in saying that none of the 5 courses in the vegetarian tasting menu would have been out of place in a restaurant with 2 more stars the food was that good. The location by the lakeside is great and the vibe is friendly and informal which we really liked. It's not cheap, but good value for this level of food. Highly recommended.
Had a reservation for 20:30 and as soon as we got there the service team got to it and we gave us plenty of suggestions, we decided to go for the 6 course tasting menu. Without many words i can say that it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a restaurant, the food was phenomenal and the gentleman serving didn’t miss a single thing aswell. The restaurant has an amazing lake view wich just adds up even more to the experience. Definitely comming back.
Friends invited us to Meta with big expectations. What a disappointment! Despite the bare Mis en Table and bright cold ambience, the food was tasteless and unattractive. Service tried to compensate but fell very short of an enjoyable dining experience. At CHF 235/person you may expect better.
